I received my teacher certification in N.C. at Fayetteville State University. I also hold a certification in AMSTI (math & science) and am currently a part of the Madison City Schools "Math Leadership Team" - "unwrapping" the Common Core Curriculum. I attended "Train the Trainer" classes at UNA to become an AMSTI first grade math trainer. I attended "Train the Trainer" classes in Alabaster to become an AMSTI first grade science trainer.

My teaching experience includes teaching kindergarten through third grade in several states. I have been teaching first grade at West Madison Elementary since January 2008.

I taught in four different states while my husband was on active duty in the Army. We retired to Madison, AL in June 2007. We have two daughters.

I have high expectations for all of my students. I want each child to do his or her best. I expect each student to be prepared for class each day and follow the school rules.

Parents can help me by checking the homework folder and Paw Pad daily, and by reading all of the communications that I send home. Feel free to contact me at any times with questions, concerns or to set up a conference.
